Up to the Challenge: Building Capacity to Meet Demand

Oct 18, 2011 – Oct 19, 2011

Calgary, AB

The Great One said, “I skate to where the puck is going to be – not where it has been”. Those planning infrastructure investments try to do the same - in a similar fast-paced game. By successfully anticipating the level of demand for infrastructure, they will maximize business opportunities.

WESTAC Members met in Winnipeg in April to discuss demand pictures shaping Western Canada’s transportation system. The sessions explored the first part of any effective planning process. The Semi-Annual Meeting will build on the commodity demand predictions and discuss capacity implications.

Transportation service providers and infrastructure providers will demonstrate how Western Canada’s transportation system will aim to match capacity to meet future North American demand. There will be opportunities for Members to discuss any misalignment between the commodity forecast snapshots presented in the Spring and the industry’s plans.
