Premier Moe Makes Changes to His Cabinet

Regina, SK— Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe announced changes to his cabinet today, aiming to balance experienced leadership with fresh perspectives. Hon. Kim Gartner has been appointed Minister of Highways, while Minister Marit returns to the Agriculture portfolio, with the added responsibility of the Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation. WESTAC thanks Minister Marit for his continued support and looks forward to working with Minister Gartner to advance transportation priorities important to Saskatchewan and Western Canada.
About Hon. Kim Gartner
Hon. Kim Gartner was sworn into Premier Moe’s Cabinet on December 11, 2025. He was first elected MLA for Kindersley-Biggar in 2024. He had a 35-year career in municipal administration, supporting local, regional, and provincial initiatives. He served as chief administrative officer for the town of Macklin for 30 years. Minister Gartner is a Past President of the Urban Administrators Association of Saskatchewan and has also served as School Trustee for the Living Sky School Division.
In addition to his professional life, he has been an active volunteer with numerous community organizations and has served as event coordinator for the World Bunnock Championship.
Minister Gartner was born and raised on a family farm a short distance east of Macklin. He and his wife Colleen have four children and four granddaughters.
