Vancouver, BC – July 28, 2022 — The Western Transportation Advisory Council's (WESTAC) Board of Directors is pleased to announce West Fraser as the newest member of the Council. As one of the world's largest lumber and OSB manufacturers, West Fraser is a major contributor to the Western Canadian economy.

West Fraser's heritage is a story about people who came together to build much more than the founders ever imagined. This collaborative culture makes West Fraser well suited to join WESTAC. WESTAC brings together leaders who recognize that transportation issues have long horizons and require a sustained, collective commitment.

"We are very excited to have West Fraser join WESTAC. As a leader in the forestry sector, they will bring a unique viewpoint to the transportation and supply chain challenges facing Western Canada's trade corridors," said Lindsay Kislock, President & CEO, WESTAC

The Official Representative to the Council will be James Gorman, Vice-President, Government & Corporate Relations. The Alternate representative will be Laurie Kravski, General Manager, Transportation.

"WESTAC plays an important role in bringing government, shippers, carriers, ports and labour together to discuss key transportation issues. West Fraser is pleased to join WESTAC and is committed to working collaboratively to maximize the efficiency of Canada's supply chain," noted Gorman.
