New Saskatchewan Minister of Highways and Infrastructure

Premier Brad Wall shuffled cabinet today appointing a smaller 17-member cabinet in Saskatchewan.

“In the April election, we were fortunate that voters elected a number of very talented and capable new MLAs, creating the opportunity for renewal in our government,” Wall said. “The new cabinet will have a strong blend of experience and new faces and will serve Saskatchewan well as we work to meet the opportunities and challenges facing our province.” – Premier Brad Wall

Hon. David Marit (MLA for Wood River) appointed to the Highways and Infrastructure Portfolio.

Hon. David Marit biography

David Marit was elected MLA for Wood River on April 4th, 2016. Born and raised in the area, he has very strong ties to his community.

David currently owns and operates a farm with his brother. In addition to his busy professional life, he has volunteered extensively in his community. He served on Rural Municipality of Willow Bunch Council since 1993 and, in 1999 he was elected to Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities (SARM) Board as Director for Division 2 where he served as President until winning the nomination for the Saskatchewan Party.

He currently volunteers as a board member for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan and looks forward to representing the people of Wood River.

David is a member of the Standing Committee on Intergovernmental Affairs and Justice.

He and his wife Lois have one son, one daughter, and two granddaughters.
