- The Western Transportation Advisory Council (WESTAC) is an influential, non-profit association of transportation organizations, represented by senior business, labour and government decision-makers.
WESTAC’s vision is to be the prime catalyst for supply chain excellence. The Council promotes transportation as a critical sector supporting trade, jobs and our high standard of living, and advances solutions to transportation problems across sectors.
As a catalyst and thought leader, WESTAC creates, advances and shares ideas to improve the transportation supply chain. As an industry champion, it promotes transportation as a critical sector supporting trade, jobs and our high standard of living. WESTAC’s activities are primarily based within Western Canada, although the Council recognizes that transportation is a nationally integrated system requiring active participation across the country.
Members span the modes and sectors: carriers, logistics providers, shippers, ports and terminals, labour unions, and the three levels of government. WESTAC's main asset is the senior level of our members. They are typically executives, ministers, and labour leaders. Each is actively concerned with the well-being of the region’s transportation system, as a foundation of economic growth and national strength and is able to lead change within their organization and industry.
For more information on membership please see the WESTAC Brochure.
